Why Your Weight-Loss Diet Isn't Working

When we try to intentionally lose weight (e.g., go on a diet), our bodies do not understand. They interpret this diet as a form of starvation, like during famine or war. In response to this, survival mechanisms kick in;

  • increased hunger hormones

  • decreased satiety hormones

  • slowed metabolism

This makes sticking to the diet extremely hard! In the video linked below, I explain how the body responds to a weight loss diet. Understanding this is KEY to learning how to work WITH your body and achieve your health goals.
